I worked new years eve day, but for the first time had new years day off!!

It was awesome staying up and not having to worry about getting up early the next morning.

Our Christmas was just the two of us this year.

Someone had to work and save lives, so we celebrated on the Friday before.

Our Christmas date this year was to an amazing Italian restaurant in Grapevine.

The wait was long for our food, so they gave us free soup and dessert :)

We had many celebrations of Christmas! I went to the Ladies Christmas Dinner at IBC and it was wonderful. We worshiped with Addision Road. Our sunday school class, The tree, had a great christmas celebration. Love the good/gag gifts! Unfortunately Kev was traveling so he missed my LCMC Western Christmas Party! Had a great time tho!

Ohio trip!!

We spent 10 days in Ohio this year! So thankful, we have jobs that allow us to be this flexible! We visited many friends and family and had a blast! Though there were a few people we didn't get to squeeze in, but that shall wait until next visit. We stayed 5 nights at my parents and 5 nights with Kevin's. This allowed us to really spend quality time with both families. I just love going back home. There is something so comfortable and love the little town feel. Everywhere we went I saw someone I knew! It almost feels like I never left even though the kids are growing up so fast. Here are some moments from our trip!!

We spent time with Kevin's mom and family. She made a great Thanksgiving meal and we played the longest game of uno ever!! The kids are growing up so fast!! Sean even lost a tooth while we were there! Great fun we had!

I FINALLY got to meet Reed and Olivia! They are precious and boy was it nice to see The Grise side!! Dave always makes me laugh and wow look at these kids!! I can't get over how much older Kylie and Kamy are!!

We even got to go to Conner's first Birthday!

So great to spend time with Max and Alicia and their beautiful family!! We had a yummy meal and just chatted away! These kids are precious!!

Brooke and I met up at Texas Roadhouse in Muncie,IN! I got to see her adorable baby bump. Baby D due in January!! Can't wait to see pictures! It was wonderful catching up with her! Love ya Brooke!

Love my best friends!! We haven't been all together since last year! Even though we have distance between us, I feel so close to these lovely ladies! Angela is pregnant! Seriously, so excited! I believe she was 13 weeks in this photo! She is going to be a wonderful mother! Can't wait to meet this beautiful boy or girl! It was so nice catching up and just laughing together!! Love you girls!! So blessed to have them in my life!

Ethan and Emma made a snowman :) Thankful for my Dad and Mom. Y'all are such blessings in my life and I am so thankful y'all make an effort to spending time together. I love you! Kevin and I had such a wonderful time in Ohio! It's hard to believe the next time we will be there together will be at Meg's wedding!! Wow, that will be exciting!!

This year we got to spend Thanksgiving in Ohio with our friends and family! We actually celebrated 5 thanksgivings :) Lots of fun times! So thankful everyone was healthy. It was incredible seeing Dan since his journey this past year. Thank you Lord for protecting him! Kevin and I started at his Grandparents house for a few hours and then went to my families for the rest of the evening! I had an amazing time catching up with everyone and playing with the kids! We love you all!!!

Decorating Early this year!

Due to traveling to Ohio and Kevin traveling for work, we had to decorate early this year. And I mean early, we were putting up the tree and decorating November 9th!! Almost too early, but I have really enjoyed the Christmas spirit. Kevin even put up the lights while I was at work when it was 70 outside. Sad to say the 70s are gone :( Loved making memories while listening to christmas music really loud! I bet our neighbors thought we were strange :) Enjoy the pics!

Vegas Baby!

We took a short trip to Vegas. We stayed at the Venetian (gorgeous))!!!3 days of tons of walking in amazement in how gorgeous the hotels were. It was so great to spend some quality time with Kevin. It was so awesome to just talk. We walked down the strip pretty much stopping in every hotel. We ate so much yummy food and even saw Phantom of the Opera. The lights in Vegas are fabulous!! We did a little gambling--one about 20 bucks at a slot machine. Kevin had a great time with some co-workers that happened to be there the same time we were. We one some and we lost some, but we had a fab time.

Definitely recommend staying here!!

One thing that almost made the trip aweful was my wallet fell out of my purse at the Cosmopolitian. After about 15 minutes of panic, we called the hotel and they had it in security. No one stole the cash or numerous credit cards I had in there!! Thank Goodness! Kevin was really amazing about the situation--he didn't even raise his voice or get mad! Yes, that's right-I have an amazing hubby :) Enjoy some pics!!

FAM VISIT

Family came for a few days and it was a blast.

Boy did we do a ton of fun things.

It started with JFK museum.

Very neat to see, but sad.

Spent the next full day at the waterpark.

Hillarous that our family went when all us kids are in our 20s.

It was beautiful and the wave pool was great!

Dad loved it!

Next day, we went to the outlet mall and did some shopping.

We even made it to the Fort Worth Stock Yards!

A Rodeo was going on and we got to see some real Cowboys :)

The last day-we went to church and swam at the hotel pool.

I truly had a wonderful time visiting with my family.

So fun to celebrate megs engagement together.

It was nice for Kevin to have some manly bonding with my dad.

And I always enjoy laughing with mom and Molly.

Very blessed my family could come and visit.

The distance would be so much more difficult if they didn't make it.

Happy 25th to me!

Wow, can't believe I am 25, feel like I am 21 guess that is good!

I had a great day. Kevin took the day off and we went to cracker barrel for pancakes. Extra Blessing-the man seated next to us noticed that we prayed and he paid for our breakfast. Went to Lake Lewisville and spent a few hours on the waverunner! Had a great time!! Dinner was so yummy BBQ and ice cream for dessert! Great day full of memories :)

Thanks to ALL you prayed for my brother. He is doing so much better and we are thankful for God's faithfulness through the whole journey!

This week we bought a car to replace my Ford contour aka turtle! Thankful it made it through so many trips for me and now we a more dependable vehicle :)

Jamaica and SUMMER!!!

My love and the sunset!

Jamaica was fabulous! We spent 5 days there in paradise! It was so nice to get away and have nothing to do. We enjoyed not having internet, phones or even our watches. It was absolutely gorgeous. Wish we were there now! We basically ate and laid on the beach the whole time. It was nice to read with my feet in the beautiful blue water. We did venture out to climb the famous Dunn's River Falls! It was an adventure full of memories.

We spent our 2nd Anniversary there and it was fun to reflect on our wedding day. We have been so blessed through our 2 years. I am truly blessed by my husband everyday. He is so joyful and I love making memories with him. What can I say I love him :)

Can't believe it is mid-June already! It has already reached 100 here in Dallas. I have already enjoyed some girl time. I have a lot of teacher friends and now we can get together during the day. We met for a day at the pool and Mexican for lunch. Tomorrow, it is pedi and chick flick day! So excited! Gotta love summer.

I volunteered for the Special Olympics a few weeks ago and we had so much fun!!
It was a hot day, but we were not busy so we just got to hang out which was nice. It was neat to see the kids compete. They are filled with joy and so fun to watch.

We actually were at church together and it was an end to the endless traveling for Kevin.

We ate lunch at Celebrations- a new fave place.

Quick trip to the North!

While Kevin was away for 3 weeks, I made a trip up to see friends and family.

I finally got to see Brooke!! We had a great time catching up! It went by so quickly.

She is such a blessing!! Got to spend time with Molly which was so nice to reconnect.

Mom and I had some quality time while everyone was at work.

I even got to spend some time with the extended family. Bob Evans was a must with my in-laws.

Ethan and Emma were precious and growing so big!

I even got to do some shopping. I had a fantastic time and know it will be awhile before I return :(

Kevin was home for a few days so we squeezed in a trip to San Antonio. It was so great to spend time together. We had such a good time. My favorite was the sea lions and the dolphins! Sea lions have such a awesome personality! I told Kev that if we lived on a beach I would have a pet dolphin. Sea World is very educational, we learned quite a bit. We also realized we were not teenagers anymore. We rode our first rollar coaster married :) We were quite dizzy afterwards! One of my favorite quotes from a child I heard was "Mommy, there's a shamu grill??? They eat Shamu???" She was so concerned. We had fanastic weather. It got up to 94 while we were there. Saturday night, we returned to the Alamo (hehe). We ate on the riverwalk for FREE!! The restaurant we went to lost our name and we waited over 45 minutes. Then they brought us the wrong food. So they paid for it :) We got dessert too!!

Angela came to visit for a whole week while Kevin was gone.

We had an amazing time

We shopped for two whole days.

I have never spent that much on clothes.

Much needed though.

Beautiful weather lead to dog park and lots of walks.

We even did some yard work.

Pedicures and facials were much needed.

Relaxation was INCREDIBLE!

Reorganized my closet and donated 5 trash bags full of clothes.

These included: pants from high school and several winter clothes that are not needed in Texas.

The Highway

We have had an unusual weather this year in Texas and boy when it snows the city shuts down. It has been as low as 0 with the wind chill. Making us Texans drip water so our pipes do not freeze. It has been this chilling weather for about 2 weeks and we are dying to warm up soon. We received about an inch of ice and then a couple days later 3-5 inches of real snow. Mind you the hospital does not close so I drove in this crazy weather, risking my life with the texas drivers' that know nothing about driving in this weather. We do have sand trucks, but no plows or salt. I missed that so much. Here are some pictures to document the memories. This was also Superbowl week which added to the madness!!

We had a free moment in the ER on Friday and we ran out to make a snowman!! We made it with our special ER equipment. Including C-collar, lab tubes, urine hat, crutches and a pelvic spectulum.. We had a great time!

Canada Get-Away!

Kevin's work has a holiday party every year in Canada. They fly all the Dallas employee's up. So we flew up to where it was even colder and enjoyed a weekend away! We had a wonderful time. It was great to meet some more of his coworkers. Kevin received many compliments by his coworker and I was a proud wife! Saturday night was the party and it was so much fun! We got to get dressed up and eat yummy food that was free! Sunday came and I was headed back to the states while Kevin stayed to work.

Funny Story----

We had to drive about 45 minutes to the airport. Kevin stayed in Kitchener, while I left with his coworkers, We got lost on the way and ended up 25 minutes later than we planned. I checked my purse before I left to make sure I had my passport and license. When pulling out my passport I noticed that it was Kevin's and my heart sank. Well I called him and he had my passport. Thank goodness there was another flight later that night. So all was well, because I got to see Kevin again! He came and we switched and ate lunch and then I took the next flight to DFW airport. I love making memories!!!

-We enjoyed decorating our house. We decided we need a larger tree next year. It was so exciting to put lights up. We even had Santa and candy canes in our yard. We went to Ohio for Christmas. It was 17 hours of quality time together. This was Dixon's first rode trip. Ohio greeted us with snow and very chilly weather. We spend many hours enjoying the company of friends and family. Our nieces and nephews have grown so quickly. Christmas day was full of excitement and traveling between families. It was wonderful. It was our first Christmas in Ohio since we have been married. We were blessed to celebrate with everyone. Enjoy some pics!

WE started a new tradition of a Christmas date. We went to saw the Nutcracker Ballet and ate at a very fancy steakhouse! Kevin even told me to get whatever I wanted! I had the most glorious filet. The food was amazing and the company was even greater :)

We met our new nephew for the first time. Conner is so adorable. It was wonderful to see all our friends wonderful to see all our friends and family. We love you all!

Our Thanksgiving was different! It was the first one I work and I was a little bummed. Thanksgiving is not another day when you work. But Kevin was so sweet and made our Thanksgiving meal ALL by himself! It was so yummy!! Our oven broke while he was cooking the corn so he finished it in the microwave! We have been blessed this year! Thank you Lord.

Camping Trip!!

November 12-14 we traveled to Broken Bow Oklahoma for our first camping trip together! We went with Heath and Michelle who we know from church. They are very experienced campers, which was great for us. This was my first Real camping trip. And I am proud to say, I loved it.
Friday night we arrived and it had rained and our tent was wet! Good thing Kev thought to bring a towel and I dried out the tent. We were even able to fit our two air beds in the tent :) We ate chicken and potatoes and it was so good. I also tried guacamole for the first time. I really enjoyed it and feel like now I am a real Texan. It was quite cold, but the fire made me warm. Saturday we spent the morning by the fire and exploring in the woods. That afternoon we hiked 3 miles to the Folk Festival. It was great, Kev even bought me kettle corn (my favorite). We spend the evening making dinner and eating s'mores and playing pass the pigs! Sunday was a beautiful day. We explored some more and just enjoyed relaxing together. We played Frisbee golf and then packed up and drove back to Dallas. Enjoy some of our pictures!!

So October 15th was closing day!!! And that is the day we started painting. Day 1-kitchen Day 2- Living room, hallway and master bedroom. Day 3- master bath Day 4- guest room Day 5- laundry room and dining room Day 6- guest bathroom. We were quite busy!! We moved in on October 23rd with the help of some friends!
We absolutely love and enjoy our new home! I have yet to post real updated pictures with all our furniture. I want to wait until we are decorated for Christmas :) Dixon is loving the house. He loves the doggy door, he gets so much more freedom. I always said Dixon would never sleep with us. When Kevin came home two weeks ago Dixon was sleeping at the bottom of the bed :) Now it's every night, he's not allowed in the sheets tho! It's so funny, sometimes he gets between Kev and I.

This fall is going so fast! It was an absolutely beautiful day and I couldn't stop looking at the bright blue sky with not even a single cloud and thank God I was not at work!! I just finished 4 weeks of 50 hour weeks! I knew I had been working too much when Kevin woke up to me saying in my sleep "Is 12 QMPed is 12 QMPed." It was great! I am quite tired, but thankful for the opportunity to make some more money. Praise, Kevin received another raise!!! God has blessed us with wonderful jobs :)

In Triage... we got new walky talkies!!

About two weeks ago, I went to the Texas State Fair!! It was so much fun! I went with my coworkers after our staff meeting. We rode 1 crazy ride and ate so much fried food. The variety was from fried beer (gross) I didn't try it to fried s'mores (So Good)!! The one thing I wanted was fried cookie dough. It was soo good!! It was so warm and the chocolate was melty. So good that I didn't realize the nuts until my last couple bites. Then the itching began. We made a trip to First Aid and I was thankful for half the ER staff that was with me. Well my eyes began to swell (looked like I didn't have a bridge of my nose). My throat started to swell and I was close to having to go get treated. Thank goodness the swelling stopped, now I just need to get an epi pen!

Last weekend Kevin and I went to a Rangers Game! The best part about it was it was free and they were all you can eat seats. The Nachos were amazing! It was a nice date night and there were Fireworks afterwards!

Last week, we started Men and Women's Bible study. I am so excited. The topic is Sisterhood: Alone to Known. My group is filled with 13 young women. The Study is going to be challenging and I am ready for it. Number 1 goal: to grow closer to my Father.

I have been working overtime and it has been very busy in the ER. I have had some crazy patients and this past Sunday I worked and we had no patients while the Cowboys were playing. It was so fun sitting in room 5 with my coworkers and cheering on the Boys! Unfortunately, they lost!! My goal last year for football season was to last through the game! This year, I want to learn more about football. I want to know more than just the quarterback haha. We will see how it goes! I made Kevin laugh last year because I asked him why Payton Manning wasn't on the field and he said they are playing defense and I said I thought he was always on the field!!

We close on our house on October 15th!!!! We are so excited!! We are deciding on paint colors and refrigerators and bed frames!! I can't believe we are going to have a home, Are we old enough??? I guess so. Another Goal for me is when I am packing up stuff to get rid of stuff we didn't use the past year.

Kevin is doing well and just got home from Georgia!! He will be traveling to North Carolina coming in October!

The weather doesn't feel like fall at all! I went to the pool last week and it's still in the 90s! I will not complain about it at all!

So late one night last week....

We went to bed and about a half hour later, my wonderful husband was asleep. I, on the other hand was not. I unfortunately am a light sleeper and when I get used to sleeping alone when Kevin is gone, it takes me awhile to get used to sleeping with him again. I sneezed and it woke Kevin up in a frantic and he jumped out of bed and insisted on turning on the light. I was so surprised that he jumped out of bed and was wondering what was wrong. I thought he was still asleep. He turned on the light and just stared at me. I asked him what was going on and he said, "I thought there was a snake on you!" I busted out laughing so hard I started crying. I guess I was making a shadow against the wall that looked like a snake. So glad my husband was looking out for me! Hope this brought a smile to your face :)

So we have been looking for homes around the area and looked at a house last Friday and we loved it and we put in an offer. After many hours of praying and decision making we started the process. By the way, no one tells you the ride of being a homeowner! I never knew when I could be excited!! It was an emotional ride, but by Monday we knew we may have a new home. After the inspection on Tuesday we know that the home is perfect.

Let me tell you about our new home!!! It is 3 bedroom/ 2 bath. And we are so excited. It is in Lewisville, TX and is about 15 minutes away from work. It has a nice size yard and a two car garage. Basically, everything we were looking for. The school district is amazing as well. It's perfect for us!! We close in October and will be moving the end of the month! Molly is so silly!

So thankful my family made the trip to Dallas! Mom and Dad flew down on Thursday and we spent time talking and enjoying each other. In fact, when we were out to eat, I convinced my dad to try some chicken and he actually liked it!!!! So know he will order it and actually eat some!!! Big thing for my dad!!! Friday night Moll and Megs were suppose to fly in and unfortunately had some delays and came in at 2 in the morning. Mom and I went to the galleria and stopped by Couch and other ritzy stores!!

Saturday started off with the adventure of renting a boat for a couple of hours on lake lewisville. It was a blast and it was such a beautiful day. I didn't realize how big lake lewisville was. They were amazeed at the texas heat. It was around 105 when they were here. I guess I am just used to it! It was so nice to visit with my sisters. I can't believe how old they are. Megs loves to talk to me about medical stuff and since some of our classes were the same. Saturday night we ate some yummy food and showed moll and megs around irving.

Beautiful Sunset!

We started our vacation off with a fun drive to GA. We spent the night at Grandpa French's place and got to visit with some of the family. It was so nice to see them!! We hadn't since we had been married. Then on Sunday we drove the rest of the way and made our way to the beautiful beach!! Our week was wonderful! We had lots of sun!! We started our day off at 7 so we were at the beach when it wasn't so hot. We quickly discovered that the umbrella did not provide enough shade for our men. So Scott bought a tent! It was perfect. Our second day on the beach we unfortunately encountered schools of jellyfish and Stephanie and I became quick victims! Boy, did it sting! And no, no one peed on me!! The lifeguards had a vinegar solution that helped relieve the pain. Now we know when jellyfish season is! We ate tons of yummy food and had many romantic walks on the beach. Our good friend Jenn came to visit us as well! It was so nice to see her!! Enjoy some of the pictures!! It was a well desired and relaxing vacation!! I will think of how wonderful it is when I am in the ER and it is very stressful!!

   Hi, Welcome to Las Colinas Medical Center. Tell me what is your emergency. That is what I have been saying all day!! It is my first day in triage and it was been overwhelming at times, but so far it hasn't been so bad. I now have an entire year of nursing experience so I get the wonderful responsibility of triaging patients and being the gatekeeper for the ER. Yes, I am the one that picks someone else instead of you b/c their problem is more lifethreatening haha. I have been picking up some night shifts and they have been fun. Though adjusting back and forth is somewhat challenging. One night we saw a 4 day old baby and he was so sweet! He was healthy so that is great! I am pretty sure after another year of ER I will doing PRN work in the nursery as well as ER.
    Life is going well...Countdown until vacation is 9 days :) Seriously looking forward to it. We are going with our friends from church aka the Darbs :) We are renting a car and driving 17 hours to Hiltron head, South Carolina and we are even stopping by for a quick visit with some Grandparents. We will be staying in a condo across the street from the beach for a whole week!! A week of beach bliss...sign me up!! I am ready to bake in the sun!

Greetings blog readers :) I am posting this while I am trying to stay awake because tomorrow night I am working my first ever night shift! 7 pm to 7 am...hope I can stay awake.

So my Dad had two stents placed in his heart. Thank you for your prayers. Continue to pray for his diet changes and that is very challenging for him.

Funny Story...
I locked my keys in my car at the gas pump! Gave several people a great laugh, including myself. All is well and AAA rescued me. Too bad Kevin was out of town, but I have great friends that came to be with me while I waited.

On another note...
I have been truly enjoying my book study with the ladies. This book is teaching me how to be a better wife and have a heavenly marriage. I am truly learning everyday how to love my hubby better. And the ladies have been such an encouragement. Here is a great quote from what I read tonight...
"A good marriage is good b/c one or both of them have learned to overlook the other's faults, to love the other as he or she is and to not attempt to change the other or bring him or her to repentance."

Needless to say I love my husband more now than ever and I appreciate how he provides and loves me unconditionally. God has blessed us :)

Summer is definitely here :) I have spend many days by the pool and now I need to change my time when I am out. I was going out in the afternoon but now that it is around 96 I will be laying out in the morning. I love this time. I am enjoying it b/c I know we will not live here very long. While I am feeling the heat, I love to talk to friends and read. I just finished Dear John and it was so good. Now I am ready to see the Movie. Kevin and I have been swimming and really enjoying our pool at the apartment.

Last night Susie and Kyle came over. It was so fun getting caught up with them. Kent is getting so big and so cute. He was so good. Susie also approved that Dixon was baby proof :) Kent had no fear and Dixon in the end loved Kent because he gave him food! We had a great time visiting and had yummy grilled chicken for dinner.

On a more serious note, my mom called and my dad is having a heart cath on Tuesday so please keep him in your prayers. I also have had this little girl Claire on my mind lately. She came in to the ER as a drowning patient and started CPR on her. She is 3 years old and the whole situation is heart breaking. I was very thankful I was not in the ER when she arrived but come to find out they attend our church. We got a pulse on her after 15 minutes and now she is at Medical City Childrens in Dallas. My bestest Friends!!

We flew to Ohio to visit family and friends and it was a short trip, but very fun! We had plenty of time with my family and Kevin's family, it was so nice to see and visit with everyone! The kids have grown and are so fun to be around. We spend Friday visiting and then had family photos and spend the night with The Original Grises' :) Saturday we spend the morning with Kevin's mom and family. It was so nice to relax and visit. We even saw the boys play T-ball. Saturday evening was spend with the Langston side :) Sunday was Mothers day and we split up so we could be with our Mothers' at church! It was so wonderful to be around. I then got the opportunity to visit with my extended family! Boy was it a blast!! Sunday was also our first anniversary!! We decided we wanted to go out to O Charley's for dinner!! Which is my favorite restaurant!! The food was so yummy. Monday was spent visiting some special teachers at the junior high and saying goodbye :(

San Antonio!!

We traveled to San Antonio April 15-18th. We decided to celebrate our Anniversary early b/c Kevin had some vacation days left. We had a blast. It was so nice to get away. We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast near the river walk. We visited natural bridge caverns and it was pretty neat. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy but it did stop for most of the day. Boy, did we eat good!! Yummy, breakfast in the morning and then fantastic Mexican and whatever else you desire!! We visited the Alamo and learned about the history of Texas. We also visited the Mexican market where Kevin did a great job directing me away from the shopping. Though he did let me get a churro, which are my favorite especially since I love Cinnamon.The river walk is very unique and romantic. The river has shops right off of it and it was really neat to experience. We went to a restaurant called Lulu's that was on Man vs. Food for their huge cinnamon rolls, we had to have one. The cinnamon roll is 3 lbs!!! In fact, we still have some in the fridge :) We had a great time just relaxing away from work. When we got back Dixon was anxious to see us :)

April 20th was Kevin's 1st year of working with Brock Solutions :) It's hard to believe time is going by so fast. We both just started summer men/women bible studies and are looking forward to growing in the Lord. We have been so blessed this year. We decided after this trip that we needed to get back in shape haha. Marriage makes you gain weight :) So we started P90x, we will see how that goes!! I am so sore already, but excited to be making healthy choices. Only a little over a week until we make our Ohio visit. It is about time to see everyone again! We miss y'all!! Aunt Christa and Uncle Bob came to visit :) Bob had a work conference in Grapevine, which is only 10 minutes away. It was so nice to spend time with them. They got a big texas welcome and the weather was semi-nice for them. We even went downtown Dallas and visited where JFK was assassinated. We had a great time!!
We celebrated Kevin's 23rd birthday! It was great!! I made him Banana cake, which was Grandma Langstons recipe and it was so yummy! He bought a motorcycle! And we are very excited about it!! We are continuing to enjoy life in Texas! Talk to you soon!!

So sorry I haven't posted in forever! So here is a quick update :) We had a wonderful white Christmas! Kevin and I actually celebrated on christmas eve b/c I worked on Christmas. It was so much fun waking up together and celebrating christmas. We brought in the new year at a friends house. It was different not celebrating the new year with New York, we forgot about the time change :) January was a busy month. Besides working and getting back to the swing of things my parents flew down to spend some time with us. We gave them a big texas welcome and introduced them to yummy texan BBQ. We loved showing them where everything was and especially taking them to our church. Mom and I enjoyed shopping while the boys watched football. I even got to take mom to Sam Moon which is basically a accessory heaven :)   WE also got to visit Susie and Kyle, I can't believe how big Kent is getting!! It was truly a wonderful time and we hope to see them soon.
    This past weekend we flew to Canada for Kevin's business holiday party. It was the first time we have flown together and it was a great time! It was so fun getting to know the people Kevin works with and especially his friends from Canada. It was very nice getting to go away for the weekend.
   We have started Bible Study again for the semester. It has been wonderful so far. We are studying the book of John. Well that's about it! I will post soon I promise!! Just wanted to let you know how we are doing!

Loving the Holidays

Boy have we been busy. Since we have been back to Texas we have celebrated several times. I have been able to make lots of yummy goodies for all the parties. I made brownies with the mint icing, icing cookies and buckeyes. Appartley, no one knows what buckeyes are done here. I bought them to work and everyone asked me what they were. Then they told me "they are like a reeces cup but 10 times better."

Friday night Kevin and I went on a date night to the Texan Gaylord the ice. It was ice sculptures of the How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It was so awesome :) They gave us parkas to keep us warm while we walked around in the building where it is 9 degrees. They even had a slide made out of ice that we went down. I love the new things we get to experience and the traditions we are starting.

Kevin is still enjoying his job. In fact, he met with his boss two weeks ago and received great news. They told him he is going really well. He even got a raise, praise the Lord. We are so excited, we are halfway debt free!!!! God has blessed us!
Work is going well for me as well! I am completely on my own and have been since mid-November. I love the rush of the ER. I have participated in multiple CPR cases and unfortunately have had bad outcomes. Being involved in this process has made me value life, friends and family. My boss did tell Kevin at the holiday party that he would be proud of me :)

The weather has been crazy. It has been in the 70s down to the 40s. No snow but it did frost this morning. Dixon is doing well and loves to cuddle and loves all his toys. Have a very Merry Christmas!!! We love you!

Ohio Trip

I was blessed enough to get 9 days off of work and we made the 16 hour trip to Ohio. We were able to visit with all of our families and friends :) On the way there, we met Ben and Brooke (my maid of honor) in Indy to eat! It was wonderful to see her. Then we kept on driving to Ohio. We visited with my family Wednesday and saw wonderful friends Wednesday night. Thanksgiving was wonderful we spent lunch with the Langston side and then went to the Teeters for the afternoon and then to my mom's for dinner.

It was wonderful to see our nieces and nephews. Ethan G. has grown and I loved playing hide-n-seek with him. Emma is so sweet, we have discovered that Emma loves her uncle. She even calls him joe and it is so cute (she does have an uncle Joe in MN). Ethan H. developed a crush on me and told me we had to go upstairs b/c he can not kiss girls in front of other people haha. Alivia is growning and walking now. Kyle is such a orny boy and getting stable on his feet. Kevin's brothers are growing so fast. And I can not get over the Niemi gang, they are all so fun to be with. Bella was talking and so sweet.

We even got to drive to Bowling Green to meet Terry and Debi for lunch. They are now married and we got to have those wonderful conversations about our weddings. They are a wonderful couple and I look forward to going on vacation with them in July. We had a wonderful time in Ohio. It was wonderful being welcomed back. It was different being back married and it was so great to spend the time with family married :) We look forward to going back sometime soon!!

We moved at the end of October to a newer apartment complex. We are now on the first floor and we have lots of more room. Kevin was very excited about now having a garage. We are still about 10 minutes away from work. We love it here. The staff is very friendly and they offer free breakfast very Saturday morning. One of my favorite things about the apartment is there is tons of grass around and the neighbors are very kind and quite. And of course I love my nice big kitchen. We have enjoyed decorating our place for Christmas! Here are some photos of our home!

In mid-November we decided to add a new member to our family. His name is Dixon. He is about a year old and is a white westie/maltese mix. He weighs about 15 pounds. He is adorable and the perfect dog. We love taking him on walks and he loves to have a home. We adopted him from a rescue shelter, he had been dropped off because he was infested with flees. Now he is perfectly healthy and spunky. We are definitely enjoying our new addition.

He is potty trained and we have not had an accident yet. At first he whimpered when putting him in his crate at night, but now he has adapted. He loves to play fetch and we have already trained him to sit, lay down and roll over. We believe he has some separation anxiety, he will not eat unless we stay in the kitchen :) Needless to say, we love him and think he is a great fit.

I can't believe it is half way through October already! We have been very busy lately. We are getting ready to move next weekend :) I am so excited for the new place. Lots of space and a new home! It has been different weather than we are used to. Tonight it is still 78 degrees out!! Fall still feels like summer and it is definitely strange, but really nice at the same time.
Kevin did not have to travel this month like we thought :) But he has been visiting Waco,TX for a few days. He is still really enjoying his job and the new challenges he faces. Kevin and I have been participating in a weekly Bible study and he has really clicked with some guys. This weekend while I work he is going to play Frisbee golf. We are truly loving the relationships we have in our new church.
I will be getting off orientation at the end of this month :) I have learned continuously! God has truly given me a wonderful job. I have been working quite a bit lately. In fact, last week I worked 6 out of 7 days and all 12 hour shifts :) I am hoping that is the last time I do that in awhile. I am still waiting to see when we can take a trip to Ohio in November for Thanksgiving!

October is a special month for me. Our friends Terry and Debi got married last weekend and we are so happy for them. And my best friend Katie is getting married this weekend!! Congrats, marriage is wonderful! Unfortunately, we could not come to their weddings :( Most importantly this month 7 years ago I started dating Kevin!! I can not believe that we have been together for 7 years! God has brought us so far in our relationship. Thank you God for making Kevin just for me! You have truly blessed us! Texas State Fair

A couple of weeks ago we went to the fair!! We had such a great time! It is so big. We had to try the yummy fried foods. Kevin tried the fried peanut butter jelly and banana sandwich and a fried snickers! I had the fried oreos. It was so hard to choose they had all types of fried foods for example fried cheesecake, fried cookie dough and fried butter. In fact, Oprah is coming to try the food next week.
We saw some interesting things as well. We saw a 1100 lb. pig... he was huge! We also walked in a butterfly garden and got to enjoy eachother. There was a petting zoo that had giraffes, zebras and other various animals. Our favorite was piglets that were eating and they were hilarious. We also rode the texas star ferris wheel we had a great view of Dallas! It was a great day!

Langston Update :)

Kevin and I have been pretty busy lately. We are adjusting well to our jobs and have been having weekly get together with our new friends from church. We found out we enjoy games and have had about 5 game nights with our friends :) Kevin has been quite competitive and has won most of the games haha. We will be moving in October to a better apartment complex. It is a bigger apartment and on the first floor. It is a nicer complex and we will still be within 10 minutes from our work. And since it is on the first floor we can get a dog :) At least that is what I keep telling Kevin!! I can't believe we have been married for 4 months... to be honest it seems longer (in a good way :))
Kevin is doing well. A couple of weeks ago he went to a BBQ Men's cookoff at the church and he is exstatic that the mens group will be going skydiving. He definitely will be doing this :) I myself, am a little nervous. But he wants some more excitement to his life. I thought I was enough but I guess not haha! Kevin has actually been traveling quite a bit to Canada and it almost finished with his project in Minnasota.
I have been learning tons at work. I have mastered having 3 rooms and need to work up to 4 and then I will be orientation. Being a nurse has been wonderful and everything I worked so hard for has definitely paid off. I love the people I work with, God placed me right where I needed to be. God has been helping me with the emotional situations that come into the ER. This week our church starts up the Women and Men's Bible study on Monday nights:) I am so excited to get to know some more women.

We are loving the life that God planned for us. God has been with us through the difficult times and has blessed us as we have trusted Him! God Bless! We think and pray for you all often :)

Feels like Home!

We are adjusting to married life and finally getting a routine! I have been working full time for about 4 weeks and I am enjoying the ER. My first day was quite overwhelming, but I am feeling more and more confident each day. Saving lives has been wonderful!
We found a church that we can serve at-Irving Bible Church. It has about 2,000 people. We have attended Sunday School (Newly and Nearly Married group) for months now and we are met several couples. We have been so blessed with there company! Kevin has enjoyed spending some time with some church buddies while I went to Angela's wedding! We have been out to eat with them and I have had girl night! We are starting to get involved and it is very exciting! God has blessed us with some wonderful friends! We recently have been wanting a puppy, but we will see :) God Bless!

1 month of marriage has past and I still can't believe we are married and besides that living in TEXAS!!! It is quite hot here, but I have definitely enjoyed the sun! At the end of June, I started looking for a job and was blessed with two offers by the end of one week. I accepted an offer at Las Colinas Medical Center in the Emergency Room and I am working 12 hour shifts three days a week. And the best news is I am working 1st shift!!! Work is only 8 minutes away as well. God definitely brought this wonderful opportunity to me! Kevin is doing well and enjoying his job as well. He has already traveled to Canada and Minnasota. He is very excited about the option of wearing shorts to work. He is also located only 10 minutes from home.
July 4th we spend the day at Kevin's coworkers party at a nearby lake. This gave us the opportunity to meet some of the coworkers and their families. We had a blast and Brock's Solutions provided fireworks and Kevin really enjoyed firing them off with the other engineers :)July 8th was one of the craziest days for me. It was the day I spend 6 hours testing and taking my boards. Two days later I found out I passed!!! God was with me the whole entire time!!! Now I am free to be a nurse for him! God has blessed us with careers we are enjoying!!!

Funny Mindy Moment!

In early June, Kevin went to Canada for two weeks on business. This particular day I had studied all week for my boards. I suddenly heard the tornado sirens and checked the television and our county was in a tornado warning was in effect. I looked outside and I was terrified... it looked awful! Well in Ohio we normally go to a basement and well we live on the 3rd floor so I wasn't about to stay there. So in a frantic, I went down to the first floor in the hallway. Leaves and sticks were blowing in and I decided I still wasn't safe. So I started knocking on some people's door and a nice couple answered and let me in. I am thankful I didn't knock on a door of a single man's apartment. Anyway, I can't believe I did this!!! I just started knocking and I found a safe place to go from now on :)

Just Married!

We finally Tied the Knot!! It was an amazing day that God truly blessed! We had a wonderful time and I will never forget that special day! Kevin and I headed to Gatlinberg and Hilton Head beach. We had a wonderful and lots of giggles. I had no idea my husband was so funny. We spend Saturday night in a hotel in Cincinnati and then drove to Gatlinberg on Sunday. While we were there we went to the yummy apple barn, enjoyed horseback riding and ate many great meals. We enjoyed our time in the cabin that had a hot tub! We also saw a comedy show and I had the opportunity to join in on the fun. On Tuesday we headed to Hilton head. We spent many hours on the beautiful beach and went putt putt golfing and Kevin beat me by two strokes.
The week came to an end and we drove through several states to our new home in Texas! I was so excited to finally get there and see what Kevin picked out! We went shopping for our bedroom furiture and spent the week sleeping on an airmattress :)
